The story so far...
I have been making beautiful objects out of card, fabric, beads, and found objects since I was a child. This natural instinct was the seed for this business venture.
In 2006 I saw a friend wearing a gorgeous glass bead lariat necklace that she had bought in South Africa, and something inside me jumped! Within a few days I had made my own version and everywhere I wore it I received admiring comments.
In spring 2007 I approached 2 shops about stocking my lariat necklaces. Both proprietors were positive about the quality, style and saleability of the product, and in both shops sales have been steady ever since.
In the summer of 2007 I made the decision to 'make a go of it'. I created a whole new range of eye-catching jewellery. My prices to reflect the hand made uniqueness of each product, whilst offering something affordable to women of all ages.
'Lucy Wallis' has its own incredible momentum. Teenagers are borrowing their mum's necklaces and bracelets whilst saving up for their own, whilst women from twenties through to eighties are buying pieces for themselves and as gifts.
As gifts they are a masterstroke; universally appealing, well made, light for posting, beautifully presented and packaged, as well as having a personal touch not found with mass produced goods.
Whether you are a first-time browser or a regular customer I hope that you will soon find this a place of sanctuary, a place to run to when you have a gift to buy or money to treat yourself with. I sincerely hope that you enjoy my 'shop'.
